bOb Bar is the kind of bar that I really like.  It's not so crowded that it's unbearable, but it's also not completely dead.  It's a typical lounge, with plenty of seating and a bar that's a little too small.  It's dimly lit enough to conceal the fact that I'm not particularly good looking, or the fact that I have probably spilled food on my outfit.  The music is just loud enough for me to pretend like whichever lady I am talking to must not have accurately heard whatever stupid thing I said.  The bartenders are attentive and mix a good drink.  If you're in the area, I would definitely recommend bOb Bar, even if they're not too clear on which letters are supposed to be capitalized.

The Frying Pan. An original and unique bar sitting afloat a renovated barge along the Hudson river near Chelsea. If you like gorgeous bartenders, gorgeous girls, and gorgeous buckets of Corona's, this is the place to be. With women ranging from 5s to 11 on a 1-10 scale, one can easily appreciate the sheer beauty NYC has to offer. Just remember, staring at cleavage is like staring at the sun. Get a glance then turn away before some spiked hair Jersey Shore wannabe catches you. With 2 floors, (including a spiral staircase providing plenty of upskirt action) one can truly enjoy the bountiful harvest that this great city reaps each year. With the warm breeze blowing and the bar rocking slowly back and forth, guests feel like they re on a cruise or better yet their own yacht. So next time you feel like remeniscing your glory years when anything seemed possible, be sure to visit the Frying Pan where you can recapture your adolescent desires and wildest fantasies.

I came here on a whim on a Saturday night after (the horror!) because some friends from LA were in town. I normally steer clear of the MePa beginning from Thurs-Sunday nights because of the ridiculous waits at practically every venue there along with the annoying scene. Ah, the things one must do to fulfill the "gracious host" scene. Unsurprisingly, there was a pretty long line when we got to Cielo which quickly reminded me of WHY I don't go to MePa clubs on weekends but, my friends were determined to wait to get in and so, we stood in line. It was barely moving and every minute that ticked by, I was more than happy to call it a night but SUDDENLY, there was a nice man who approached two young pop tart looking blondies (picture Paris Hilton) dressed in super, SUPER SHORT dresses and heels who was told to go to the bouncer at the door to get in. He told them to tell the bouncer "Richard sent us". He was going to pass by me and my friends but I grabbed him and asked him to take care of us too and SO, he told us to say the same to the bouncer! YIPPEEEEEEE!!! I honestly HATE paying ANY cover, especially $20 for a non celebrity DJ night BUT, we were IN and so I paid it. As expected, it was pretty EMPTY in there and so we were able to claim our place on the dance floor to shake our thangs. The interior is nothing impressive to me but the speaker system is what really matters and this is where Cielo gets props! I wasn't to be bothered by the scene or anything besides enjoying the music and getting my groove on. I do like Cielo and would come back but definitely not on Thurs-Suns because the lines are NOT worth the hassle and the crowds that come on weekends is not my type of crowd.
