by soy y. on i've had so many different experiences at vanguard it's hard to really write one concrete review but i'm going to try my best. so i've always been against trendy elaborate LA clubs because it's all about being LA and well that's another story. but what i do have to mention is that vanguard has done a great job creating an amazing space for the main area, the VIP tables, the patio (except the annoying wide step stairway from the back patio area) security: they are great.. some of them introduce themselves to you if you have a table to make sure you know who to go to if you have any problems and i've always felt safe enough to go to them in any case i felt uncomfortable. table service: vangaurd is one of the places that i've seen provide cases of water rather than bottle service. some people just need to be rehydrated vs have a pretty girl pour a drink. it shows how they are making sure that their VIP patrons are getting exactly what they want and need. it's important to know that they are looking out for your personal request rather than just what's provided to the general public. venue space: even though it's a bit difficult for people to go out to the patio area to have a smoke or just to socialize in an area that's not overpowered with their insane sound system. i've noticed that i've enjoyed my time in the different space that i've been provided. i've been in the front hip hop chill room which helped socializing with people that were apart of my group of friends because it wasn't too intest and spacious. the main area is pretty big and sometimes intimidating but if you prepare yourself for it and know that it's just a BIG open area where you will have direct view of the artist but you also are open to general public who have commited being apart of the environment.. you have to accept the good and bad.. the open air area for people who need a smoke or just a breath of fresh air is in the back and the patio is set up so it's comforting and relaxing. they have a dj out on the patio and also a bar to help accomodate any needs while u need a break for the intensity of how crazy things can get inside. i'm not sure how the cabana's/booths work on the patio but they have heat lamps everywhere and it's a great way to makie sure they are accomadating for their guests. it really does depend on who is throwing the event and which space you are apart of but i have to say they've laid out a great space to comfort everyone's needs. but beware.. the drink prices are a bit outrageous.. so either pre-party or do what u need to do to get what you what. just have fun... and enjoy your time.. vanguard is setup in great way to enjoy a night out.. although the patrons might make it hard to believe.
