Well me and my friends were hyped about going to this place. This place is beautiful inside and just big and love the decor! We waited in line forever and by the time we got in everyone was in which I have no idea where all those people fit/even were because we got in and it didnt look packed it was comfortable. Great space. The only thing was the music was a little iffy, the DJ that night didnt know what he was doing the mix was just blahhhh...we went on a Friday night too so thats just crazy! I want to go back but on a night I know the DJ is good...

If you want to contribute to typical, cliche, hollywood Bullsh*t, come to this club. One time was enough. People should have more self respect than this...

When trying to describe this place to others, the only word that comes to mind is un-hybrid. Usually when you have a blend of two or more elements (in this case cafe & lounge) usually one of the two dominates or even worse, they fuse together into something different altogether thus lose their identity. Sugar Cafe (for the time being) has managed to create an identity that is transparent and clear while not overstepping its boundaries and trying to be an "everything for everyone" establishment. On a Saturday night, you can just as easily grab a cup of coffee or pint of Guinness and carry on a conversation in a busy but not crowded nor loud scene. One of the bartenders here amazingly can serve strong, well-made drinks, keep you entertained, look pretty and teach you something new all throughout the course of the night - very impressive. She introduced me to the Guinness machine (first time I've ever heard of or seen) where you place a drink (poured out of a can or bottle and into a glass) and place it in this machine (looks like a paint can shaker but for beer) and it creates the perfect amount of foam. There's a private room you can rent out back which can accommodate about 15-20 people comfortably which is ideal for a birthday party (as in the case for last night).
