bOb Bar is the kind of bar that I really like. It's not so crowded that it's unbearable, but it's also not completely dead. It's a typical lounge, with plenty of seating and a bar that's a little too small. It's dimly lit enough to conceal the fact that I'm not particularly good looking, or the fact that I have probably spilled food on my outfit. The music is just loud enough for me to pretend like whichever lady I am talking to must not have accurately heard whatever stupid thing I said. The bartenders are attentive and mix a good drink. If you're in the area, I would definitely recommend bOb Bar, even if they're not too clear on which letters are supposed to be capitalized.

Came a while back on a Friday night. The place wasn't too packed, which is good. From what I remember, which isn't much, the upstairs room is all white with accents of blue and purple. Downstairs has a basement feel to it, which isn't bad, but is quite a change from the spacious room upstairs. There's also a small, side room downstairs that has couches and I can see being more of a lounging spot. Overall, the place is cool and I wouldn't mind coming back. Also, got here a little past 11 pm and fully expected to pay $20, but the bouncers just told us go to in. Sweet! and 420 friendly.

Certain things are good certain are bad. I've been twice and I'm over it. First time I went they seated us on the patio even though it was freezing and there was no nearby heat lamp. No, I'm sorry not acceptable! They need to ask when you make the reservation INSIDE OR OUT. We were two women in little dresses and not going to sit out there so we went back to the bar but had lost our spots. The bartender who was fantastic got us our spots back after a while and we ate there. Some of the food is OUTSTANDING like the squid, caviar blini, lamb, hamachi, venison, and pumpkin. Others is way MEDIOCRE like the ahi, risotto, miso cod, lobster, and beet salad. The servers and managers are full of attitude. I'm sorry when you are throwing down that kind of dough and $15 bucks just to park your car...don't give me attitude! The bartender was the only nice one there. Second time we had 8 girls I think and even when they were trying to be nice they weren't. 2 of us were even staying at the SLS so they had a birthday card on the table saying thanks for spending your birthday at XIV and the SLS but they didn't even send a dessert. When you drop a grand and the bus boys spill 3 glasses of $25 champagne on us that is the least you can do! Yes, they refilled the glasses but the dresses and purses were still wet. Whatever I'm done with SBE and their overpriced shitty food and attitudes. SBar and their 20 drinks, Katsuya, all of it..I'm sticking to the original KY in Studio City... I will say this..the decor is very nice and like I said earlier some of the food is really outstanding. If you are on a date and want to go have a guy spend some dough on you then give it a whirl if you like a scene. But if it's on your dime forget it. If you are at a table you all have to order the same thing. If you are at the bar you can order whatever you want...
