Had another terrible trip to Philadelphia... All my my trips involving Philadelphia go awry. I like the city itself, but for some reason it doesn't love me back. City of brotherly love, my foot! Anyways, I digress... ISHI YAKI BOP! That was the highlight of my trip...Went for lunch by myself because I can't be visiting Philadelphia, be within walking distance of the master, and not plop myself down for a spell. Well, I did make reservations. Service was fine, my waiter was nice. Ishi Yaki Bop (hamachi) was yum...and generously sized. Next time I would mix it up myself because I like it when the rice sits and gets crunchy. Because my waiter efficiently mixed everything I didn't get as much crunchy rice bits. Also, I would probably keep the fish towards the top. The later pieces on the bottom were not as yummy because they cooked for a longer peried of time. The accompanying salad was very good. Tender and not ice cold, exactly the way I like it. The soup, miso was fine, but nothing iron chef-y about it. Bathrooms were cool, but the cheapy plastic ikea-like waste basket kind of downgraded the feel. Wish i could go for sushi and/or dinner, but I was on the company dime and wanted to stay within budget. I skipped breakfast and dinner that day, but was worth it.

I absolutely loved this place!! Quite a few museums do this, but California Academy of Sciences does it best!! Make sure to get their early, and go to the Planetarium FIRST in order to get your tickets for the show. I recommend taking a picture of the schedule from your smart phone as soon as you walk in, so that you can plan your night and hit up everything. Also, I would make sure to see everything first, and then grab a bite to eat from the cafeteria. For a museum cafeteria, it is AMAZING and has a decent cost! Even the sides are quite filling! Try to see the rooftop during the day and night. It is quite a sight at both times. The entertainment is sparsely spread out throughout the night, but I highly recommend seeing all the exhibits first, especially if you have never been before. The Extreme Mammals exhibit was interesting, but a little too crowded, making it hard to enjoy. The Rain Forest was by far my favorite. I've been to butterfly exhibits before, but the amount of reptiles and insects is incredible! They are all very fascinating. It's also like Where's Waldo, trying to find all the camouflage species. Kind of fun! Also, if you go around 5, check out the Botanical Gardens, right near by. Park on the street, as there is plenty of space, and it is free! I highly recommend going to the nightlife scene at the California Academy of Sciences. I had a blast, and I'm sure you will too!

3 stars for having 3 floors of dance space. Each floor with a different kind of music to accommodate all your friends. Drinks are reasonably priced. Do try to get on the guest list before you go. Otherwise expect long lines on a weekend. Haven't tried their dinner menu yet and I don't plan to. Having come here for drinks and dance, it'll be weird for me to come here and sit down for dinner.
