by Steve L. on As you may know, Geno's is definitely the tourist hot spot. As you may not know, their cheesesteaks are supremely overrated. We had a craving for a good ol' cheesesteak and decided to grab Geno's. It has been awhile since I've eaten here (I prefer Pat's), but thought I'd try the light polluting establishment again. Whiz Wit please... the cheesesteak came out quickly and I began to devour it. It really isn't anything special. The bread was on the dull side and the meat, thickly cut, was just OK. There are a bunch of better places in Philly, like across the street, so don't fall for the trap. Fries were very poor as well. Not as crispy as I would have liked them, and they tasted a bit old. 2 stars is for attempt and was still edible.
by Earle Hidalgo on I recently had my birthday celebration at Sloane. I chose it for its nice décor and atmosphere. I did not want to have it at a huge club; I wanted to have it at a small intimate location. I reserved 3 tables and 6 bottles with Dane the owner. He was very professional and gave us 3 complimentary bottles of champagne. He gave me and my friends a great deal on the bottle service and was very prompt with all email and phone communication. On the day of the event was when it took a complete180 from being something I was looking forward to, to somewhere I wanted to leave. I meet with my host Don. Don on the other hand was completely phony, unprofessional, and rude. Let's just say he completely ruined my birthday. When we arrived they stamped my guest and took us upstairs. They brought in the bottles and everything seemed to be fine. Some of us went downstairs to dance while others stay up top. My friend saw the female host take away 2 half full bottles of grey goose and when I notified Don about it he completely denied it and then started accusing me to having too much alcohol and that I was seeing things when 3 people who were our DD's for the night saw her take the bottles. We are from out of town and many of us did not stay the night in San Francisco. Let's just say after that the night completely went sour. So I paid my bill and left, I have never met such an uneducated individual in my entire life. You are running a business and to scam people and call them names is uncalled for. Dane the owner is the only reason I am giving this place 1 star. I feel bad that he has such an unprofessional employee working for him.
by Cristobal Kapur on this place sucks so much! people r NOT attractive. TOO many ugly asians. decor is horrendous especially downstairs. no one even goes anymore i dont think. im pretty sure it'll shu tdown soon. and parkign across the street is SOO expensive.
