by Jen S. on Bouncers are jerks. They discriminated against a very pretty group of girls because they were in their thirties. Made us stand in line despite being on guest list while letting groups of younger, not necessarily attractive, people enter. Then denied us access after we waited because someone touched the velvet rope.
by Michelle K. on Man, I thought this place was awesome. Of course, I'm a tourist. Reading these reviews, I can see that Supperclub has already lost its luster with many people. On a Sunday night visiting the city (day before Memorial Day), my companion and I discovered that our dinner reservation at Millennium had fallen through. The concierge at our hotel, while helpful, didn't seem to know exactly what we were looking for. I called my sister and asked her if she could recommend a place that was interestingly laid out, where we could dress up and look really cute, and that was essentially... an experience with food. After some consultation, she recommended this place as: a weird performance art dining venue where you sit on beds and don't get to order your own food. All right! Sounded awesome! We had the concierge make our reservation. Got there right at 7 pm and were the first ones seated. They ask you for dietary preferences right off of the bat and were okay with our giant list (peanuts, walnuts, poultry, strawberries, chocolates, egg, and tofu, I believe). The venue ultimately filled up to about... a quarter of the total capacity. Dinner service doesn't start until a bit after 8, but we had plenty to distract ourselves with. Fantastic drinks and wonderful conversation, for one. We each got a massage from the rockin' massage woman. It's $20 for 15 minutes and she did a great job. The dinner courses were.. whitefish sashimi as the first course, an asparagus soup as the second, main course was roast beef with peas on the side and dessert was... honestly, I wore a very tight dress and by that point I was lying on the bed, moaning, getting my back rubbed and occasionally having a spoonful of dessert fed to me. So I don't remember. The starter was the best dish; however, eating new food in darkened/dramatically lightened atmosphere is always a risky proposition. When you're not sure of the color of your food, the flavor definitely comes in to question as well! Periodically, dinner entertainment would appear. I recall the aerial performer and a contortionist, both of which were delightful. I think that our experience would have been vastly different had it been on a Saturday night or any other night where it wasn't as laid back. For a large space, having it sparsely populated made for an intimate experience where I got to run around in the deserted upstairs and jump up and down on all of the beds. Fantastic. The total bill for: four cocktails, 2 prix meals, 2 bottles of Pelligrino, sales tax, and 20% tip came to about $230. This is excluding the massages, which were paid for up front. If you live in San Francisco, you probably already have your polarized opinion on Supperclub. And if you're just swinging through town from a podunk city like me (woot pdx represent), then it's going to be a unique experience and you will likely have a lot of fun.
by Albertha Gargan on Every time I've been here it's been a spur of the moment decision. It's not the sort of place you should be excited about Thursday night because your going there Saturday. The calamari and mojito's are decent and if you happen to catch a night where they have a violinist the music isn't half bad. I appreciate how down to earth the staff is and they do go out of your way to please you. I remember one of the waitresses made it her business to get the DJ to honor my MGMT song request. I expressed my thank you by dancing on the runway inspired tabletop dance floor for the rest of the night. If you happen to end up here, make the best of it but it's nothing to brag about Monday morning.
