by Julie P. on I went last Thursday (1/27/2010). From reading other reviews, I was concerned about the availability of parking and planetarium passes. Since we were coming from the South Bay, we didn't get there until around 6:15 or 6:30, but surprisingly there was plenty of free street parking on MLK just a 5 minute walk away, and still passes for the 6:30 and 7:30 shows (8:30 was sold out). Maybe it was a less popular night to go. Enjoyed the rainforest, the aquarium is huge! Seemed larger than Birch Aquarium in San Diego. Favorites were the large octopus (I've never seen one move so much before, it was amazing!) the hands on tidepool, and the nautilus. We did eat before going, but the cafe seemed to have quite a large selection of food that smelled good. As others have mentioned, Citipass has a $2 off coupon, and you get in free within 7 days of your birthday, so for the two of us, it was just $10 - a great deal for what you get.
by Pan R. on Very small place! The guy was almost rude. Telling us we had to leave by 11pm because there were reservations made (only 1.5 hours), and kicking us out at 10:30... Geez. He also seemed to not trust us and would occasionally spy. AND he took my friend's food to store away. I mean, really? It's not like we would've bought your food anyway. The song selection is alright. The books are too disorganized though. Had no idea how to find songs. The remote is confusing too ! The one-stall bathroom was scary.
by Benny Huckeby on With 24 mojitos to choose from, what could be bad after the first three? Super guacamole, made fresh at tableside. I had grilled shrimp tacos which were really simple and flavorful. Sides were the usual ho-hum outside of the Southwest states. Very funny faux-surrealist art hanging inside.
