by Chris B. on We visited during the evening in late January - we were staying in the Hotel Carlton just a few blocks up during our stay in San Francisco. The atmosphere was good, with a welcoming fireplace and good music. The one staff member we spoke to was very friendly but sadly slow in serving us. Service took to long, and certain menu items were out of stock (both food and drink). When the interesting drinks arrived they were very good, if a little overpriced for the size. Food was also good, with portion sizes just right. Oddly enough, we were asked to pay at the table in cash as we ordered - now this may be standard practice, but it seemed weird for a cafe with table service. I guess I was expecting to pay once we had finished eating. Finally, the number of people using the seemingly free Wi-Fi gave the atmosphere a bit of a hit. Good food, with a welcoming ambiance - yet lacking that something special.
by Ayana Y. on I went to Hiro with my sister Fellow rateclubser Klysha R. and a few close friends and family members for a private birthday party for a Cousin. I absolutely loved this place.... Great drinks and Great music= a perfect night! Which I had!!!!! Everyone should go there!
by Gabrielle Magleby on I've only been here once on a Friday night after 10 pm and it was so bad I never want to go back. It was probably 70% full upstairs with 20-30 somethings - probably 40% women, 0% good looking people, and terrible music. I should probably give it one more try but why.
