by Jessica C. on Went on a Saturday night (late) and it was crowded, but not so crowded that you have to keep your hands up to block your face as you walk through, and it's possible to get a drink when you want one. Great music and decent-sized dance floor!
by Britt Myrick on Wow, there are some people who are fussy at Trudy's. I've just never been able to work up that kind of an opinion of this place one way or another. That said, it's pretty much a WYSIWYG joint, with your boilerplate pseudo-Tex Mex and Texas foodstuffs happening, your nachos, your tortilla soup, your chicken-fried what-have-you. This is not the place to seek out a particularly unique dining experience. And yet, the crowd seems to endure, probably partially because they're local and unchanged over time, and partially because in Austin we love sitting outside, and the joint has a homey deck framing the bar in the back. So really, this may be more of a two and half deal, but I'm erring upside today given that I've had some nice times there. Nice, but unremarkable, like a good arm rest. You try holding your arms up all the time, it's hard.
