by Vanessa V. on Ok, so I had a not bad time. My group got here around 10:30pm and the downstairs dungeon was empty! So we got to dance to good music for a while and it was pretty roomy. The music ranged from 80's, 90's, 2000s and today's top 40. It was nice. The night went on and it got really crowded and hot! People really seemed to have a good time though. Then around 1:30 the music just stopped playing and the bouncer started kicking everyone out. It would be nicer if there was a heads up that they were ending the night. The bouncer seemed kinda bitchy but it was just their job. The only reason why I'm giving a two stars because the drinks were SO EXPENSIVE and we were our credit card bill! The bartender/club added $4 extra onto the tip and that was something that we didn't sign for on the receipt. Isn't this kind of weird? But we need to call them up to see what's up. I'll update later. Updated: so Bubble Lounge says we'll get our $4 back supposedly because the bank charges 20% extra to our bill but we'll get a refund back later. It's really odd.
by Bigpeeler on This place rocks. Bar at one end, the door at the other. In between you'll find a pool table, tables and chairs and a couple of support beams that I'm prone to run into now and then.
Music? Do you like it loud, good and right in front of you? Then this is your place. The band that they had playing last Saturday (12/11/10)was jaw-droppingly good. I'm 50 years old and have been in a few clubs and bars around town so when I tell you that Charlacks rates at the top, believe me.
No, there isn't a whole lot of room and no, they don't serve food from the bar. This is a bar for bikers and those who like to party. The prices are great. Bring a $20 bill and you'll leave happy. Bring $50 and you'll leave a changed person.
Don't bring your colors and don't bring an attitude. Have a good time and try not to get in the way of the people shooting pool. Check it out. Oh, and watch out for the cops who like to hang out in the parking lot. Make sure you stop at the traffic light at the corner or else...

I love the open mic jam nights....it gives an opportunity for local musicians to unite and play what they love...(some of them famous). The live bands on fri and sat nights are amazing to say the least. The drinks are stiff and reasonably priced. It is kind of a small place but there is seating outside with secure parking. When they BBQ (seems like every wed night) it is to die for. Mmm mmmmm good! If you like great music and good people..... CHARLACK PUB IS WHERE TO BE!!!!

by Morton Vatter on I don't know what has kept me from South City Kitchen. What was I thinking? Think of all the great meals I could have had!! Well, I went this week. Now I'm on track. South City will be on my list of go-to places around town. I started with a cup of crab soup. I am still licking my lips. Then, I ordered the jambalaya. It was full of seafood and sausage. I couldn't eat it all. Oh, I forgot to share a little secret. They brought bread to the table. I love bread but don't eat it often because I'm trying to be good. Well, I thought I'd try the little biscuit after my meal. It was fantastic. Meet you at South City soon!!
