by Gilma Feagins on I like to drink my meals at Trudy's. But when I do eat--it's gotta be the stuffed avocado. who doesn't love deep fried ___? The salsa has got some heat to it--which I LOVE...plus Mexi-Marts make it real easy to cope with the spice. Not my favorite queso--but I still order and devour it. Co-worker and I stopped by on Topshelf Tuesday for you guessed it--top self margs/mexi martinis for house price. The bartender politely recommended the resposado and I was thrilled with my ONE mexican martini. Let's just put it that way. I love sitting on the patio (they have a smoking section). Plus I can honestly say every experience I've had at Trudy's has been fun--Although I rarely sit inside unless it's at the bar. I might go again tonight just thinking about Mexi-Marts but I hear Mondays are where it's at if you can stand the crowd. :) Cheers.
by Raymonde Pelosi on I want to like this place a lot, but I can't for a couple reasons. I'm not a big fan of house music, and that's all they play, so that's a big problem. Also, Sheena, the doorgirl, is very unpleasant. I feel like she can be unpleasant with the people she is rejecting, but even with the people she does let in? Come on, that makes me want to go somewhere else, where they will treat me better. The lounge is nice, and in the club part, sometimes they have cage dancers, and girls dancing in an empty bathtub (why not?) or on poles. Don't go until after 2am though, or else it's pretty dead. And be careful going on weekends--I went on a Friday night once and it was empty. Even later on around 3am, they filled it up a little, but it was not a good looking crowd like it normally is. Expect to see many bankers (some old guys) and models.
by Erik J. on It is all about the digital here. When the locals of MIT want to hook it up and party it is not the ones and twos that they get on but the ones and zeros. Laptop nights with samplers and large AV extravaganzas make this the place to go north of the river for the thinking mans electro fix. And this being Cambridge you need not expect any attitude on any night. Instead you will be surrounded by the coolest squares in New England. Even the seats and the Kobe Burger are square. No room for analogue here.
