Epic Thursday nights 2007..... Ok as you can see from my earlier reviews - the night started out eating Korean food in La Mirada and drinking what Koreans drink - Beer and Soju. Next went to Mood nightclub in Hollywood and drank like a mofo thanks to Roel's sorta kinda hot bartender hookup. Ok we're twisted. And like most twisted people late at night, you want to soak up the twist in some greasy, bad for you, whateveryoucanfindandwontkillyou. After relieving my self at the local shrubbery urinal on Hollywood Blvd, the evildoers SAID, FBI, and the rest walked me into Venice pizza. After eating through the obligatory pepperoni pizza, I decided to turn up the heat and ordered a jalapeno / meatball / onion / salami pie. It was excellent. Next day, all I can say - "At the time it seemed like a good idea".

I finally checked out Bruno's post-remodel and was really disappointed. I loved the old sleek, retro aesthetic and dinner club feel - why did it have to change?! They've watered it down so it now feels like a hotel bar. The whole vibe has been cheapened from the fixtures to the cheezy drink specials etched on the mirrors and Hooters bar staff. I'm so sad to see the old Bruno's completely erased. They still have some great music, but even on a Tues night, there's barely enough room to stand in the teeny space after dishing out an $8 cover. So great music, but not a great environment to see it in. I won't be running back. So sad...
