So I ask you guys why does everyone that goes here insist on giving gang signs in their pics. I had to take pics for a SKAM event last night and I swear everyone I took a pic of had to give some kind of damn gang sign. I swear I was I thought I was in Compton last night. It was damn annoying. The club is ok. The best thing about it was the DJ's. SKAM has some great DJs on their roster and they seriously kicked ass last night. And they are super nice. The crowd was kind of gangster last night. Yuck! I was scared if I asked peeps to stop giving the gang signs I was going to get shot or knifed. The staff was pretty friendly and I must say helpful. The general manager, Adam is super cool and friendly. The decor is ok with an upstairs and downstairs level. I probably would have given this place 3 stars if the crowd hadn't sucked so bad.

Let's put it this way: The whole time while waiting in line, I repeatedly said, "This place sucks, I can't wait to go home and 1-star this on rateclubs." Listen up people, the RSVP/"Guestlist" line is a total joke. I took the advice of rateclubsers and arrived at 10:03, but the guestlist line was already to the parking lot. When more friends came by shortly after, we approached the bouncers to see how long we'd have to wait as our girl:guy ratio was 3:1. Bouncer: Give me five minutes, and I'll come get you. We'll take care of you. What a bunch of bull. We waited well over an hour, while the bouncers walked up and down the guestlist line just to say the list was closed already and everyone had to pay regardless. Our group discussed whether we even wanted to pay or if we would just leave to go elsewhere. All of us were pretty pissed because if we wanted to pay, we could have done so at 10 and not waited in line. By 11, even the paying line was wrapped several deep all the way around the corner. In the end, after throwing a fit about empty promises, our entire group of 14 did get in cover-free at 11:30. However, naturally we were all feeling really annoyed with the way we were treated. It was cold outside, and for girls, standing an hour in high heels just isn't fun. We just wanted to come out and have fun and celebrate a birthday, and instead our night started out poorly. Why the hell would you even allow a 'guestlist' if you have to get in line by 9 just to get in for free? It's all an act to make the club look popular because people have to stand outside for an hour and a half. I'm giving two stars because I still managed to have fun by the end of the night. The music in the basement was good and I had a decent time dancing. I have nothing really to say about the decor, although I did leave my jacket on the Buddha statue the entire night instead of coat-checking it and somehow it didn't get stolen. It's a generous two stars. I will not be back unless I feel like coughing up $20 for cover. I'm not sure it's even worth it, because I paid that much at Tryst in Las Vegas but Tryst is at least a million and a half times better. You will not find me in any line at Temple again - seriously, heed my advice and either just pay $20 to get in at 10 and spare yourself the headache, or forgo this place altogether. Don't waste your dignity by standing in a RSVP line that won't get you anywhere.

Roe Roe Roe Your Boat...Gently Down the INCREDIBLY SLOW Stream!!! Seriously. I've only had 1 experience at Roe (during the recent Dine About Town) and all I can say is slow and unorganized. I guess those two words are one in the same - but geez...our waitress claimed to have been there for only 4 nights. I usually am sympathetic for people, but if you are positioning yourself as a "nice" restaurant, I dont think there is a good reason for placing unexperienced waitstaff on the floor - on a Saturday night. The slow service was highlighted by a 15 minute wait for drinks, forgetting to bring appetizers before the main course (remember, DineAboutTown), not offering steak knives, a newly seated (and huge) group getting food WAY before us etc. Once the waitress realized that we were peeved, she decided to hover and say "Is everything OK?" over and over again. This was accompanied by "Can I get you another drink?" Um no, after 4 drinks, we would like our food...at least the appetizer?? Ok, so maybe I'm evaluating Roe too heavily on that one experience. But, I think that one experience in combo with the food (3.5 stars..nothing special) doesn't call for a return visit. I'll only say a couple things about the "club." Good music with a young, bridge and tunnel crowd. Not bad, but not ideal if you're trying to meet people. Oh, one last thing. I threw up once I got home!
