This place is amazing. It's literally just an old boat docked on an old pier with dancing, alcohol, and plenty of near-overboards. The boat has a downstairs dancing room, made all the more fun by the swaying tide. There is a little window with a guy behind it that serves as a mini satellite bar. You can explore the whole place - even the dangerous parts. Makes you wonder about liability issues. The main bar is in the middle of the pier and serves up bottle and draft beers as well as seafaring staples like greasy fries and oysters, etc. You can get a bucket of beers for pretty cheap. And the bartendresses snap off the bottle caps like their lives depend on it. The end of the pier is actually covered by an upstairs deck (also scary) with amazing views of the Hudson, Downtown, and Jersey. Downstairs at the very end of the pier is a raised stage for performances. Even though the place was pretty full on the weekend night I went, it's big enough that you can pretty easily carve out a few tables for a large group. Drinking on a boat without leaving the city.

It's 2am and you've met up with some out of towners, your friend is tired but you and your newly acquainted friend are very much awake and want to keep the party going, where do you go?? THE END UP. Open till 6am this is where you want to go if you have the money to drop on the hefty cover. Luckily my new friend had the ability to pay for me and whatever else I wanted, wooohoo!! So we get here around 3ish and there was a small line but we got in. Once inside it's a completely different universe. The bar isn't selling alcohol so your options are figi water or red bull. The dancefloor is PACKED with tons of shirtless glittered men, some drag queens, regular folks and just about anyone else you can think of. The music is bone shakingly loud, and everyone is dancing like it's their last day on earth. I was close to being pretty tired but apparently for those that partake in some eye openers the mens bathroom is the mecca of lets say mood enhancers. Go in there with some cash and come out with some energy to dance into the morning light. I wasn't on any of those "mood enhancers" and my drunkness had already faded so I was ready to leave after being there for an hour. It was just too intense for me. I'm probably never coming back here unless an other one of these same nights happen, where everything is paid for. For now I'll stick to my dives and leave the glittered go go dancer boys behind at The End Up.

This bar is great, and I have no shame in admitting I have probably achieved regular status here. I live in the middle of Buckhead so, driving halfway across town to go somewhere to drink says quite a lot about the place. The crowd here is more unassuming than they may seem; I enjoy a bar where I can go with a group of friends, have drinks and share conversation and not be harassed by barflys and people who generally do not know how to behave at a bar. The staff here is polite, quick, and the prices on drinks are among the most reasonable in town. The porch is a reasonable size and gets busy in the fall when the weather is excellent, and Sweetwater Festive is on tap. Wednesday nights are the busiest on account of team-trivia night and The Local being the de-facto pregame spot for Wednesday MJQ Concourse revelers.
