I went with a friend on a Wednesday afternoon. There was a short line and wait, but I had heard it normally gets much more crowded so I wasn't upset. The atmosphere is really different during the day. I can tell that it moonlights as something completely different at night, apparently a club. I had a carnitas taco, pollo taco and carnitas quesadilla. The tacos were pretty good. I especially liked the pollo taco as it wasn't dry at all and they layered on good portions of guacamole, which I love, and had good amounts of beans and pico de gallo. We had the tortilla shell slightly fried which was a great choice, and I recommend it. The carnitas in both the quesadilla and the taco were slightly dry for me, though. Some bits were good, but some were tougher, though still held the taste. My friend had a fish taco which she praised, something I'd try next time. I definitely want to try this place again, maybe at night and give a shot to the other items on the menu.

Absolutely absurd that a show cancels and no email or phone call is made to notify me. My girlfriend and I went to the box office yesterday to buy tickets for the Might Diamonds scheduled to play later that same evening. We were buying them for ourselves and two of her best friends who've never been to the west coast and love reggae. Anyhow the ladies get all dolled up and we make our way to the venue to find a piece of paper in the window saying the Might Diamonds couldn't make into the country. I call today and apparently they figured this out around 4pm and didn't have time to call all of the ticket buyers. Why not start with blasting out an email and then make phone calls? I can't believe they couldn't get to all of the ticket buyers. The place isn't that big and it obviously wasn't sold out. And did nobody think of sending an email? They have all my info on file. And my consolation prize for ruining an evening with my girlfriend's two best friends that are here for three nights is a refund of their money - Thanks Yoshi's!

I love live jazz and blues, and always romanticize the notion of old-school supperclubs, thus making this venue a logical choice for celebrating the birthday of a certain concert-obsessed ratecluber. First up -- it's LOUD ... in a good way. Total basement jam space. Shane Dwight's band was sweaty and awesome. The seating is a little haphazard and our server was insanely slow. We tried in vain to keep the drinks pumping, but she was so goddamn pokey that it was a buzz-kill. The food is 'Nawlins naughty, so lots of fryers are involved, but goooood. The jambalaya packed some serious heat and was such a huge portion that even a pig like me couldn't finish it. All-in-all, it was fun-fun-fun in spite of the inattentive service. So, grab yourself a big ol' biscuit and GIT IT!
