The line was ridiculous only to come into a place that was half full...really? the cover for my guy friends were absurdly expensive and NOT WORTH IT, and our drinks were the most watered down overly priced drinks i've had in Boston (and thats saying something) My impression that I get from this club (if thats what its attempting to be) is that its trying to combine Vegas/NYC style nightclub atmosphere with poor budget. The go go dancers make this place more trashy feel than exotic, and the music remixes the DJ plays make it nearly impossible to dance to... we would have left right away had we not had to waste so much time getting in and paying a ridiculous cover. I agree with a review of another rateclubser, the staff acts they are to cool for school... but let me tell you something, when i find myself waiting to be served a drink at the bar, and i see shes too busy cuz shes texting on her phone thats when I'd like our cover money back! To top this review off, the crowd might be the most sketchiest group of people under one roof. Jersey Shore wannabes and Ed Hardy clientele makes me never want to return to this place, till it can reopen as something decent. Its basically Roxy with a new name.
by Catherine A. on Is it worth the hassle? No. It's a nice new club inside, good-looking people but hyped-up waaayyy too much all because it's part of the FB. Valet will cost you $40 plus if you park valet in the front of the FB or $20 plus if you valet on the side. I recommend the $10 lot a block or so down right next to Eden Roc. Avoid this place on special event days unless you want to dish out $400 a bottle for every couple of people in your group and know a promoter to get on the bottle list in advance. Easier nights to get in include Wednesday, Saturday; not a Friday. Dress to impress here is a must!
by Pedro Cutcher on The Dragonfly is a very iffy venue. It is located on Santa Monica Blvd in a very questionable part of town. It has street parking only( which is practically impossible to find), unless you want to pay for valet($10 I believe). It is a two part venue, one with a stage and a bar and another room with a bar and a small lounge type area with couches, tables, ottomans etc etc that can combine into one large area if the size of the crow demands it. There is also a little bar outside in back where smokers can order a drink and continue to smoke- which in LA is rare! Although the girl's bathroom is only one toilet there never really seems to be a line. They play a little of everything and even have specific club nights, everything from reggae to goth. The door men are really nice but professional. The management seems to be having problems as of late coordinating their events, so don't be surprised if the event you are playing/planning on seeing gets cancelled within hours of door time. I wouldn't mention it to visitors, and highly unlikely I would recommend it to locals.21+.
