Look Cielo is great I've been going there for years. I've met Armand van Helden and Trentemøller there, seen all my favorite djs but they have GOT to start stamping peoples hands upon entry. They are taking advantage of their patrons otherwise. I have to say that the bouncers are getting to be a problem. It was always a nice place specifically because the bouncers dont hassle you on your way in but once you are in beware. Each time I have gone with a friend of mine he has bumped into another guy who has pointed him out to a bouncer and the bouncer grabs my friend and throws him out. This happened last Thursday while we were seeing James Holden. We paid and came in and spent 20 minutes there. I followed my friend outside thinking he was just going outside and once I was out there for literally 10 seconds I turned around and said ok I am coming back in and the bouncer said "No there is no re-entry you can't come back in." I was sure that I could appeal to someone sensible inside so I went around the side to the other door people were entering and exiting through and the same bouncer stopped me there and slammed the heavy door on my fingers OUCH! This is BS. They take your $40 at the door and then want you out and gone as soon as possible. This is no kind of way to run a club. It is taking advantage of people for no reason. There is no excuse for them to have no reentry. THey need to value their patrons and get a stamp book. Hoepfully CIelo wont go the way of other clubs and become spoiled by violent bouncers.

Making the trip to Manhattan Valley: $2 metro and 40 minute subway ride Awesome mulled apple cider: $6 Tasty smoked salmon and eggs brunch plate: $10 Tax and gratuities: $4.02 Scrumptious tiered bread platter that had croissants (regular and chocolate), cinnamon caramelized toasts, those sugary crunchy twisty sticks, two kinds of jam, and butter: COMPLIMENTARY Three hours of live jazz music: COMPLIMENTARY Having a leisurely Saturday afternoon brunch, while listening to jazz in a small intimate space that's NOT overcrowded with people: um, PRICELESS!! I did a quick scan of the individual ratings for this place and it seems like it's really a hit or miss for most people. I just want to say that I am TRULY BAFFLED by those who thought this place was a miss. Good jazz + good brunch + good price! + elbow room! .... how can you go wrong??

I went to the coffee shop during the day and ended up there the next night for the lounge. I was a fan of both! Coffee shop: Any barista that takes the time to make foam art hearts in my latte has won a special place in my heart! It was foamy, hot, and delicious! Plus my chocolate muffin was rich and horrible for me, just the way i like it. :) Lounge: Very chill, cool bartender. -1 star since they were out of fresh mint and I really wanted a mojito :( (the drink the bartender offered as a substitute just didn't do the trick - waaay too sweet) Lots of intimate seating and bar space for a Friday night. Good place to sit and catch up. Very chill lounge environment.
