by J B. on A sunny Sunday morning walk from the 23 to this tucked away place. This is getting to be one of my favorite spots in Philly, this still somewhat desolate post-industrial neighborhood. Cafe Lift has a refreshing interior that makes sense for a loft neighborhood. I was pleased to find it not overcrowded at 11AM. The service was very friendly, the atmosphere relaxed. The food was the usual brunch fare, done well. I found the hueovos rancheros to be overseasoned and short on the beans, but still good. I'll come back here because it is affordable, not too crowded, and in a nifty place to walk around after eating.
by Nate B. on I think this place is kind of like a cleaner, less popular Zeitgeist. It was kind of dead by midnight on a Friday. But they have a huge outdoor area with those space heater thingys so even if it's cold you can stand under one and stay warm. I think once the weather gets nicer this place will become more full on weekends. Anyway, I liked how they had 2 dollar PBR and pretty cheap cocktails (5 dollars I think for maker's and coke). Plus, it's not that loud outside so you can actually talk with friends unlike a lot of bars. There were some cutey girls too! My friend lives pretty much next door so I'll definitely be coming back here, I recommend it if you're in the area!
