The absolute best restaurant I've ever had the pleasure to eat at. The ambiance isn't like a lot of other high class restaurants. It's comfortable with great music playing. Service was great from the beginning. My wife and I had the 5 course tasting menu and were overwhelmed with amazing foods. The diver scallops were phenomenal. Before that meal I hated brussels sprouts, and I've loved them ever since. The high light of the meal was dessert - deconstructed key lime pie and bacon fritters. Both were unforgettable. On top of everything Kevin came out so we could tell him thanks and he's one of the nicest people you could hope to meet.

El Rio = El Money This place is so sweet. I'm upset that I've been living down the street from this place for three years and I never went inside because they always charge a cover...except when I went there last Saturday. Venue is awesome. Long bar, which leads into a large back patio (smaller than Zeitgeist but twice the size of Blue Plate) which u-turns back into another room that is the stage. The hot bassist was in this short ass skirt, which, well, kept riding up so you could see her butt cleft. Is that too pervy to put in a Rateclub review? I guess the answer is yes if I am asking. Beautiful nights are awesome to spend in the back. The bar is nice and cheap. $2 Pabst. $3 Buds. I mean, shit, why did the five bucks turn me away before? As a connoisseur of the dive bar, I'd say this is definitely in the top 3 of the city.

It's not very difficult to get into this place, and the crowd is very mixed. The music selection is definitely great, and the overall ambience was OK, quite a few wasted people, but most people were just up for a good time. There were quite a few women "mingling" with other random women, so if that's not your thing, just be aware of this. VIP section is the most fun, but if you're not up for spending, just be corteous and dance your way into it.
