by Jonelle Terzian on We hadn't been to the Roosevelt since the remodel, and I'm glad to see the old Hollywood Glamour is still present in the lobby. It's amazing to be in the middle of the lobby area with towering arches and feel the energy of Hollywood past. We went for the Tropicana bar. After finally winding our way to the actual entrance (Hotel guests enter from inside the hotel, non-guests enter in a small roped area to the left of the entrance, and there was a private party so we were re-routed around the side) we saw what you'd expect from Hollywood nightlife. Guys in casual clothes, gals dressed down and up, and everyone young, beautiful, and full of life. The drinks weren't bad, yes they are pricey, but the martini glass was full.... albeit plastic, ugh. There are all kinds of people here, an eclectic bunch from all over the world, and some incredible people watching once the booze kicks in! I kept waiting for someone (or myself) to dive into the pool. Valet is also pricey, but it's a chill, line-free place to hang with plenty of room to move around and dance to the music. Oh, and Colin Farrell was there....
by Sally D. on I was invited to attend a fashion show that my friend was doing the makeup for so we got there pretty early to set up. I hung around the back room i guess while she was prepping. Later on that night after the show I decided to wander a little bit. WOW! to my amazement the place was freakin' beautiful. It even had a smoking outside area which was pretty convenient. I'm looking forward to going back again.
