by Jake Ragains on G Lounge is an interesting place. I went there a few times after it opened a few years ago - and it's evolved every so predictably. To get in - you have to wait for a while in a long, ridic line. Additionally, there is ALWAYS a cover charge of some exorbitant amount unless you are planning a party there - which I have done. They are super nice about parties, and bottle service. However, otherwise, I wouldn't go here. In fact, I avoid it now like the plague. The crowd is totally people who don't actually live in Philly, and not people I'd ever want to hang out with. Don't go here.
by Vithiet K. on I give 4 stars because I had a good experience, but it could have been a 3 stars only. Allow me to explain. First it was my girlfriend's birthday so we were going to have fun even if the place sucked. Second, we had bottle service, which gave us a few pluses. Like we were on the VIP Mezzanine; not too crowded and we could dance. From what I saw below, people were elbow to elbow, and no one danced at all (i.e. no dance floor/area). Then all the staff was super nice; no bouncer with attitude like at oh, say Vessel for example. But then again there were 10 pretty girls in our group of 13 and they usually like that; they were cool with me too but it was my name and credit card for the bottle, so maybe we got special treatment. Another good point is that there is much, much street parking available all around. Finally, the mixed crowd seemed cool, at least from what I saw from the mezzanine. Now I have to admit that it was HOT as Hell in there.... I welcomed the few seconds when people were coming in and out and the front door opened to let some fresh air come in... they should add a window or two or leave the front door open for a few minutes once in a while! The second thing is that the DJ sucked ass; but again no one seemed to be there to dance so I guess it's not a big issue for them. The place is also quite small and I am not sure I would have liked that if not on the mezzanine. I guess it is worth giving it a try but I guess it's one of those places where, depending on the conditions, you can have a lot of fun, or a terrible experience.
by Ariel Baldree on I was here for my gf's bday happy hour get together. The drinks were good. The server was very helpful and friendly. The food was pretty good. Expensive for such small portions but still darn good. I had the beef tacos. We stayed for the clubbing part. One of the bouncers was pretty rude when he made us get up from a table that had been reserved for some "VIP". He never said one word to us. He used his flashlight to motion to us to get up. We then had to ask why. Lame-o!!!!
