Great place for a bachelorette party and blueberry martinis. They do like to pack the place so get there early.

bootie at DNA is a bit of a mystery to me.  wasn't bad at all.  easy to get in at about 11pm.  but still pretty crowded inside by 1130pm.  the upstairs bar is totally the way to go if because the downstairs will be swamped in no time! i would not necessarily agree with some of the other reviews that say the crowd is "marina".... i wouldn't say it was mission with tattoo's (even though you see some of that).  i wouldn't say it was yuppie's from marina.  i would say that it was a wacky mix unlike anything i'd seen before.  there's a fair about of gay men and lesbians from the neighborhood. but they are well in the minority of the crowd.  the crowd IS very casual.  don't come in a fancy dress.  jeans is fine. i suppose i should first tell you what a "mashup" is in case you don't know or think you know.  let me start by saying that if you think you've heard a bunch of them before, you'd be wrong.  they are not your typical dance music with some sampling done of other songs.  a mashup is literally the lyrics of one song sung over the music of another song.  almost in their entirety.  they pretty much play the whole song, lyrics and music-wise.  it's a decent experience and the fact that Bootie is only 2xmonth means you can't overdo it if you wanted to, i suppose.  i think you should check it out once.  i'll probably go back again with a bigger crowd.  it's pretty fun to try to guess which 2 songs they are playing. what was a little cooler than i had expected was that they put on a LIVE band for 30 minutes to actually play live mashups.  that was fairly entertaining.  the singers were singing some lyrics of a Police song or something while the band was playing some Metallica song.  interesting. but if you're expecting techno or trance or expert DJ'ing then you'll be disappointed.  these are straight mashup songs played in their entirety, not really all that mixed together. decent, mixed crowd.  a couple good bars.  the bathrooms are vaguely clean but they reeks of chlorine, which is better than the alternative i guess. not too expensive of a cover. not bad.

I came here last Sat. night with my lady, and had dinner and a couple cocktails. This used to be the place my lady and I would frequent because of the ambience and great service.  Not so much anymore although the drinks were pretty good.  The food sucked for how much it cost. I dont mind paying the price if the food is worth it but unfortunatly its not anymore :-( Would only come for a drink if I'm in the area from now on.
