by Arnulfo Ruyle on My girlfriend and I went to this place last night for a birthday party. We were extremely disappointed in how this establishment treats its patrons. The waitresses are less than attentive, they just ignore you. We seated ourselves since no one gave a flying fuck what we did and I had to get our drinks from the bar after seeing a waitress pass us like 6 times. The first bartender actually was one of the only people at this place that asked how i was and what could he get me. Hey, give that guy a raise! The second time, i couldn't find a bartender to save my ass, apparently the other people who work there were sitting on the side of the bar eating and could care less if myself or any of the other 4 people waiting at the bar needed any help. The waiter came over and took 2 of our orders and started to fill his own order from the table he was just serving. So I'm watching him fill up 6 drinks at once and looking around at these other fools sitting and stuffing their faces while this guy is blowing out his asshole to help everyone....wtf? The third time was with my friends who had shown up and also noticed that the service here is sucks. No bartender, no one to be found. Is the bar self-serve? So at this point I am tired of giving this place a chance to redeem itself. 3 strikes and you're out. My girlfriend and I tell our friends we're out of here and we're going to Yoshi's down the street and they can join us if they want. They said just text us later because they wanted to try a different place and we said fine. I'm in customer service/account management. I am not ripping this place a new ass just for the hell of it. I am not being cold-hearted and unsympathetic. Its a Saturday night and if you have any common sense, you as a business owner should know that no matter what metropolitan city you're in, that its going to be busy. So plan accordingly. Not to sound like a broken record, but the review posted on 7/18/2008 was about as close as it gets to my experience of the pathetic service here. But at least she spoke to a waitress(:/ So the only positive thing I have to say is that the place has good music. the decor is intimate and yes, it does say Jazz Lounge. So to save this place, just fire the entire staff and get some service industry professionals in there that care about the people they are serving and this place would never have a bad review.
by Janet P. on I liked Jillian's even though I must admit I was only there one time to play pool with some co-workers. Of course, since I don't live in the City I don't frequent the Metreon much except on special occasions...
