by Angel Echeverri on Local San Francisco people have encouraged me to try this place. Albeit I already thought this was a typical Americanized joint, I tried this place tonight. First of all, this is so Russian Hill and Marina/Cow Hollow - take out joint - people who try to "twang" their words to attempt to sound authentic Spanish - ( hmm Mexican, not even ... ) It is what I thought it was - a very American-wanne-be-something else place. Worst part - a mid-age American trying to pick me up by virtue of my sitting on a table. The wait staff called - "Sofia - tacos, Sofia?". I responded, - " Si, Sofia - eccomi!" I got home and was disappointed that the so-called HARD SHELL TACO was enveloped by a soft shell tortilla wrap. I'm sure my real friends from upper class Mexico would not be happy with this place. Well, at least I tried.
by Carl F. on This is a local gem. The entertainment is great (although I really miss Houston on Friday nights), the drinks are superb, and the service is excellent. The amateur talent in the open-mic piano bar in the back is always great. Try the Sidecar and the Metropolitan martinis!
