by Rachel P. on I came to this club with a bunch of people (wouldn't know about the wait, b/c I guess one of the guys knew someone) I loved the smoke room in the back (too cold outside) and the decor of the wall with all the letters. The place was big and played really good music. There was enough room to dance and also lounge out. I would go back next time im in NYC.
by Edward C. on Keeping it simple, this place is fine. If my party didn't get lucky and snag a table, I probably would have given it 1 star and left after 15 minutes. Since we did, we were able to relax, enjoy the beautiful weather, eat some food, drink some beers. The food: Everything was passable, but I've had better burgers for sure. Before you tell me "it's a bar, what do you expect", the best burger in NYC are served at bars and pubs. It was really juicy, and I loved the rool, but it lacked flavor. We also had the calamari, Old Bay and regular fries and some dip trio with pita that could have used a few more minutes being heated. Food was a little overpriced, and the kitchen could probably use a refresher on seasoning their food, as everything was well cooked but kind of bland. Drinks: To me the drink prices were very fair, especially if you went with a pitcher or bucket of coronas. The "sangria" was just white wine with some chopped fruit tossed in right before serving. Atmosphere: PACKED. Again, if I didn't get a table, it's the kind of place I would have left quickly because of how packed it was. I absolutely felt terrible for the staff that worked there, particularly the bar backs, who had to try and make there way through that insanity with cooler of ices and cases of beer. I would go here again, but under 2 conditions: - Get there early to get a prime table. - Maybe move it to a weeknights hoping the crowd was a little less dense.
by Filomena Loner on I had an event at Tongue & Groove recently, and it was easily one of the best events we've had. The entire staff was helpful and nice, going out of their way to help us. I LOVED the decor, and all of our attendees had a blast, saying they'd gladly go back. Definitely a great place for a private event!
