im not an official foodie, nor a cook. but ive eaten enough places to know what to look for and what to expect. little baobab was my second "first date" (out of 3) with the grub crawl group. ( http://www.grubcrawl.com) and lets just say this one, has some maturing to do! ;) the food at little baobab looks a lot like home cooking. doesnt mean its awful, its just not stuffy and uber-refined, which for me is a plus. its very homey and "down to earth. " the food itself had its ups and downs. the chicken skewers were a lil dry, but went well with the peanut curry sauce. the couscous didnt sell me at all and the fried plantains (or maduros as we nicarguans would say) were perfectly cut and cooked. im still curious to try other items on the menu, however, and ordered as a plate. we ate buffet style...which is hard to do with a large group in a small venue. the hibiscus margarita was OMG good, not just good, and i dont say that too often about mixed drinks. the ambiance, the colorful art work, and the music make me want to come back here as well. the staff was friendly and had a great sense of humor. in all, little baobab is like the date u would give a second chance(because u cant turn down, down to earth), hoping that the next time he shows up a little more presentable and put together and a comb has run a few times across his hair. ;) onto the last stop...

It's cheesy, it's somewhat predictable, but oh is it fun. Hear ye, hear ye all fans of the joust. I took my wife here for her birthday and we had a grand old time. Put away the inhibitions and live in the moment. The food is actually pretty good and the fact that you eat with your hands is even better. Being sci-fi/fantasy fans helped us enjoy it even more. This is also a fantastic family event. The prices weren't bad and always check their website for specials. We got the two for one deal and upgraded to the premium package for another $10 so we had front row seating to all of the action. I highly recommend it for a fun date night and no one is ever too old for this sort of fun.

By far one of the best live music venues/restaurants in San Francisco. This is the place you want to go when you're looking for dinner + entertainment. The bands are first class. Believe it or not, this is one of the top blues clubs in the US. The food is pretty darn good too. It's simple southern food. Fried chicken and mashed potatoes can cover you well. I also recommend getting the fried pickles! Every seat in the house is great and the music will make your evening. You can have your meal and hang out into the evening. Great place to go if you're just looking for some fun live music, particularly if you're into the blues.
