I've been a fan of Fado for a long time. In my youth, I frequented its original location often, savoring pints of Guinness perfectly poured by experienced Irish bartenders. I recently had an opportunity to check out the newest location, and was delighted to find those delicious pints exactly as remembered. Although the new digs don't quite have the rustic feel of the old haunt, the bar area is clean and beautiful, and the staff is still attentive, gregarious and charming. Everything I liked about the old Fado is pretty much intact: the camaraderie; the drinks; the better-than-average food. I'm a fan of the chicken boxty quesadilla, the Smithwick's mini burgers, and, of course, the fish and chips.

This place is the biggest and the nicest karaoke bar in town, if not the best Ive ever seen..karaoke + alcohol + cheap + clean + food + hot bartenders...whats there not to like? its becoming quite popular, so you definitely need to call ahead to book rooms... its hard to just walk in and hope to get a room... Definitely a place to check out!

I have eaten here in Dallas and very much enjoyed the food. On this particular visit, it was drinks only. Before I comment on our not-so-great experience, I will say they might have one of the best frozen margs I've ever had. The consistency was to die for (better than Freddy's, similar to a place in Houston that still probably takes the cake for their frozen mango). It's like a creamy slushie. I had just the regular lime but it was slightly pin/orange? Whatever, it was awesome. And VERY strong. In fact, that's what I liked about it, as it wasn't muddled up with too much sweet and sour or other filler. That aside, it wasn't all that much fun standing around for over an hour at the very crowded bar. We weren't even at the bar, but an over flow area by the entrance. Super packed in here. Given that this place was in the Domain it is no surprise that people were dressed up. The bf was is flip flops but it didn't seem like a big deal, other than he was definitely under dressed. BEWARE however, that Gloria's has salsa on Saturday night's, so after a certain hour they charge a cover and enforce a dress code. Super annoying since some of our party joined us later, and they were denied entrance. I get the cover bit, but consistency in the dress code would be appreciated. We wouldn't have waited a hundred years if we had known part of our party would be rejected. (As such, we were forced to try and find place where a party of ten+ could relocate to eat/drink asap - ugh). I hate the "we don't seat incomplete parties" but I guess it worked out this time. What the hell were we to have done if we were in the middle of dinner and the late comers were turned away? So Gloria's definitely falls a notch in my book due to this incident, but if it's just a couple of friends, I still would recommend this place (again, no groups!). Come early, be prepared to wait, and just grab a marg and some yummy black bean dip!)
