Went here on a Sunday night for Pollo Del Mar's birthday bash party, aka Glamor Zone. It was my first time ever going here. I had a great time. They were playing some ghetto bird music that makes you get down before the show....oh yeah! Drinks were buy 1, get 1 FREE! Yes those drinks were hella strong. Free admission, not sure what it is other days they charge? Um..bathrooms seemed to be for both genders, so it didn't bother me as long as nobody tried to open my door. Pollo put on a great show. Her line up of friends were unforgettable. One of the dancers threw tortillas she had stashed up in her chest, so much fun. Anaconda ate dog biscuits! So much crap you'd never thought you'd see with your two eyes. Great local gay bar. Minus one star for the drug deal going on in the men's bathroom my friend told me about. So sad!

If you love dancing, come here. If you're tired of dancing to the same 5 songs, come here. If you enjoy tasty cocktails, come here. If you love it when everyone in the room dances, come here. If you love when men and women both dance, come here. I had such a great time when I went I can't wait to go back. The cocktails were delicious (as was the bartender). I had the caipirinha which was on the sweeter side but I loved it. And followed up with tamarind margaritas mmmm. Now the main event, the dancing. The music was great and perfect to get you moving. People were dancing everywhere and anywhere they could. The cover's pretty cheap. It does get hot once inside, although I did see a man in a sweater vest and button up shirt so maybe it's not hot enough for some. Can't wait to go back!!

I walked into the gorgeous restaurant area with its high ceilings, dark wood, and clean, minimalist look. It took me a few minutes to find the will call area though, as they didn't have clear signs. The club entrance is in the back. The stage is fairly small and there's little separation between the stage and the first row of tables. It seems like the club is small enough so that everyone should have a good view of the stage. I was also pleasantly surprised by the air circulation. Small rooms can easily become warm and stuffy. This one didn't. The chairs were a bit awkward since they were so wide and the tables were round and small (cafe tables), but that's a minor issue. There wasn't much leg room though. I didn't dine at the restaurant or order the Japanese appetizers (mmm, they have miso soup and Japanese inspired desserts) from the club menu during the show but the menu items sounded really good (and the executive chef is Japanese). The cocktails even have a Japanese flair (e.g., one drink featured vodka with yuzu juice, simple syrup and bitters, $10). The drink menu is extensive - sake, champagne, wine, and beer. There's a one drink minimum. When did jazz clubs become so expensive? Anyway, it seemed like a nice adult/mature way to spend an evening, if you enjoy jazz (I prefer goth, just so you understand that I'm used to a very different scene). Sony Holland has a smooth voice, right for jazz and soulful songs. It's not my scene but I think many people would appreciate it. It's almost too clean. I did appreciate how they were showing the Seven Samurai outside of the jazz club entrance.
