My gal-friend and I went here for a Vaud and the Villains show (love them!) and had a great time. The show itself was phenomenol - if you ever have a chance to see Vaud and the Villains DO IT! The venue itself reminded me of an old speak-easy - or like I was in a Robert Rodriguez film. It was dimly lit, booths along the edges, tables in the middle, a bar in the back, room to dance and a mish-mash of people. The only issue I had with the layout was that people ended up dancing right in front of all the tables, so if you're sitting down at a table you could no longer see the band. Which at a Vaud show - you should be dancing anyways, I suppose. ;) As far as parking and the neighborhood - I have absolutely no idea what other reviewers are talking about when they say parking is horrible and the area is bad. No, it's not beverly hills but hellooooo people - this is L.A., NOT orange county. L.A. is old and dirty, and honestly, I'd be more leary to walk around echo park after dark than this area. Mind you, it was just us young girls there - and neither of us felt scared at all. The parking situation was completely simple. My friend and I found parking on the residential cul-de-sac just west of the venue and like another reviewer said, there's a lot across the street that seems like it'd work too (all the businesses there were closed by the time we arrived). Bottom line - check out fais do do and if you're there for Vaud, expect to dance!

What you need to know: - Parking lots around the area are around $10 so bring a little cash. - Music for the night is great from around 10:30-1:00am (Top 40/hip hop). Then it takes a turn for raver/techno music afterwards - not my kind of thing, but you've been warned. - Drinks average around $10/per. There's a minimum of $30 to use on a card, so either bring cash or make sure you order rounds for at least 3 people to meet the minimum. If you spend $50 or more, automatic gratuity... that's pretty outrageous to me. This might be a place you'll have to pre party before getting there. - The gimmicky thing that night was the winners of America's Best Dance Crew season 5 performed. - Very large dance floor, lots of stairs, 2nd floor overlooks the 1st. - The room right outside the dance floor is awesome for recuperating and gaining that last hint of energy to make it home in one piece. - Where are the dirty dogs!??!?
