by Cindy T. on I really can't add anything new to the 1,000+ reviews already here. I just wanted to gush about one of my favorite places in L.A. proper. Friends and I celebrated my birthday here on a Saturday night. We tried calling in on the Thursday before to make a reservation but they were completely booked. However, there wasn't a line when we arrived at 9:30 and we strolled right by the bouncer who wished me a happy birthday. The same can't be said for friends who arrived at 10:30 and waited an hour. Lame. The Edison more than made it up to me with the best Whiskey Sour I've ever swilled. Even though friends were feeding me drinks all night and I was determined to try everything on the cocktail menu (even if I lose, I win), it was the Whiskey Sour that blew my mind. Allegedly, egg white is the secret ingredient that made it the tastiest, smoothest, most refreshing Whiskey Sour I have ever swallowed with glee. There's also an amazing gymnastic/burlesque dancer that performs on the bar or the stage every hour or so. Holy smokes... let's just say what I did to that woman with my eyes is probably illegal in at least 36 states. I didn't know whether I wanted to be her or do her.
