I stopped in for lunch today after wanting to eat here for a few months. I hardly make it down to Midtown, so I was happy that I was here for lunch. We went in around 12:30 and had to wait for about 10 minutes for a table. If you are going, I definitely recommend planning ahead and getting reservations to avoid this wait. I was a little annoyed to wait for lunch and cannot recall the last time I had to wait anywhere at lunch time, but upon getting our food, I realized 1-there is a GOOD reason why this place is packed, and 2-the food made the wait worthwhile. We were served delicious cornbread and rolls to start, and we also ordered the Fried Green Tomato appetizer. I love fried green tomatoes, but these were some of the best I have ever had! They were stuffed with cheve (goat cheese), and topped with a tomato sauce with Basil which added an interesting flavor. For our entree, we ordered a bowl of the She-Crab Soup and the Shrimp and Scallops, which were served Southern-style on top of grits. The waiter was very obliging and split our entree onto two plates so we could share, and in the split, we scored more grits than what normally comes with it ! :) The soup was good, but the Shrimp and Scallops were delicious! The seasoning used really added to the flavor of the seafood, and the grits added a nice texture to each bite. I only wish I had eaten one less bread roll prior to my meal so that I could have enjoyed my entree more, but luckily I was able to bring it home and can enjoy it for dinner tonight or lunch again tomorrow. I recommend this place for anyone wanting a nice lunch-spot in midtown, and think it is perfect for entertaining clients from out of town so that they can get some South in their Mouths!
