by monique c. on Went to see George Clinton 1/29 for the 8 PM show. I was impressed by the layout of the club however the tables were too close together. The food and drink were excellent! i was greatly disappointed with the SRO. Yes it is great if you wanted to dance all night, however we sat in Tier 1 seat 57 an we could not see a thing! We shared an extremely small table with two guys who were friendly and nice however everyone was apologizing or bumping elbows all night. The music was great.. the view not so much. It would have been nice to see Sir Nose's 12 pack but SRO was in the way. Had folks behind us so standing was not a cool thing to do. $90 bucks wasted. Never again for us
by Meghan D. on I recently moved to Atlanta and I think it's safe to say I've already found my go-to neighborhood spot at South City Kitchen! The service is great - everyone is super friendly. The food is awesome. The fried green tomatoes are the best I've had (disclaimer: I did just move from Boston and haven't had many fried green tomatoes - but these are delish!). The BBQ pork appetizer is also a great choice. The Fried Chicken entree is a must. It is perfectly cooked, crisp outside but the chicken is still moist inside. Served with garlic mashed potatoes and green beans - how can you say no! It may not be the healthy choice, but you have to try it at least once.
by Carlee Homesley on Dragged poor Rebecca with me to an afterparty during Fashion Week; the crowd was an interesting mix of people- does anyone look in the mirror before they leave the house- too many bad sweet 16 and MOB outfits. We met Christian from PR, gawd he's smaller than I am, and I am 5/ 2 1/2". Love the space; beautiful arched ceilings; snug little privacy booths on the second floor. Rather large dance floor and hanging paper lanterns. I thought the place would be fun on a date, as it's rather dark and...well use your imagination on what could happen in the shadows darling (um, could you tell I've been watching BBC America today??) Erm, yes, back to the subject at hand....there was fun music, lots of 80's stuff, which made us sing out loud and reminisce about really bad clothing, but the sound system sucked. Half the time it sounded as if the DJ had made a mix tape on a cassette and stuck it in and hit play. Sound wobbled in and out with a lot of hiss and some garbling. As an ex-DJ my ears were really offended. However, I think it might to go there again. Either with a group of people, or on a date and suck face in a dark corner. Oh, I am sooo not mature.
