Ugh where to begin... Apparently this place used to be fun and normal back in the 90s (according to my sources)... Now, Bowlmor is just a very pretentious bowling alley trying to pretend it's a club with a bouncer outside the door.... complete with deafening music inside with the lights almost completely off and people packed in like anchovies. Yeah that's smart, make it as dark as possible while tightly packed drunk people are swinging heavy balls around! I could not see a damn thing when I walked in for at least 5 minutes (Hallelujah the bar was lit up though... how *convenient*) and then we were finally told 10 minutes later after waiting in line that the wait would be an hour or more for an alley. Ummm I think not. I'd rather make the difficult journey over to Chelsea Piers! Honestly though, turn the lights on in there a little bit people!!!

They have the best happy hour in Pasadena... Any place that's got free appetizers when you buy one drink gets five stars in my book. We're definitely on a budget these days, and one diet coke with cherries ($2.75) and one or two plates of their free appetizers will do nicely for dinner. Plus, it's a fun place to hang out with your friends. We go almost every night for their 9p-12a happy hour and the service is so friendly and welcoming. It's not too crowded during the week (which is bad and good... bad because they don't rotate out the free appetizer trays often enough to get something new and fresh and good because there's less people putting their grubby mitts in the food!) We don't drink anymore, so I don't know about the drink prices. Our friends usually have a beer and snack on the food. Wed - Sun there's a DJ playing some pretty cool music. It doesn't get too loud, either, so you can still socialize. One more thing about the free food, it's quality stuff. Really full of meats and cheeses, they don't skimp on anything as far as the food goes. There's always something good to eat. (Sean's brother complains it's too spicy, and sometimes it is, but sometimes it's PERFECT!) We love this place and can't say enough about them. Check them out, at least for the happy hour, if you are hungry! (If it's nice outside, you can take the happy hour to the outdoor patio - more seating for bigger groups) -Katey

'You been to the Kong yet, man?'; 'Dude. Last night was crazy at the Kong. I must'a had 18 scorpion bowls.' 'the Kong, man, the F'in Kong.' So I guess I've been initiated into some kind of Cambridge inner circle, having made a drunken trip to the Kong. It's fun - the scorpion bowls could stand to have a bit less ice, a bit more booze.
