I arrived here at 4:55pm last night (Tuesday) and it couldn't have been more perfect timing: 3-5pm: $1 off tacos (which means my carnita taco "Nick's style" (add cheese and guac for an extra $.95) was only $3 and it was much bigger than expected and packed with meat) 5-7pm: some drink special (someone else was buying the pitchers of margaritas) 5:15pm: the place was packed and we were glad we secured a table (and a taco) early. I don't know if all those things transfer to other days but I know Tuesday is Taco Tuesday with some deals. Nothing special about the venue or margaritas but, as the 3 stars denotes, it was certainly A-OK and is a great place for groups and being loud on a Tuesday night after work.

We got $15 tickets preorder to see Matthew Dear's Big Hands and Nick Warren. The side room was pretty small but all the way live (I have absolutely no idea who was in the small room - was it 16 Bit Lolitas?) but, as usual, the main action was in the big room. There were places for people to sit but still hear the music (upstairs) or dance if you like - plenty of big screens everywhere, and the sound system was bumping so much my friend was scared (I loved it though!). I'd definitely go back. ... oh, and to the person who said the staff is rude? What about the guy in the bathroom downstairs (to the right when you walk in) hugging everyone? I've never felt so loved by the staff there in my life!

Not very good says it all about Jillian's. We were in town for a convention, Jillian's was close and we we're all starving. My soup was barely warm and the romaine on my ceaser salad tasted old. Top that off with my water glass never being refilled and it's safe to say I can't speak highly of this place. Don't waste your time or money here. There are many other great places to eat in San Francisco.
