When my friends told me we were going to Lo-Fi last Saturday night and gave me the address I got it confused with Victory Lounge next door. I was pretty sure that Victory Lounge was not the type of place I enjoy spending time at so I was a bit apprehensive. So I was happy to walk into Lo-Fi and see that it seemed like a cool place. Well that is after waiting outside just long enough for them to stop charging the $10 cover. It was a bit weird that there were more people standing outside the bar than inside, but half of them were smokers and half were probably just trying to escape the unusually hot Seattle night made even worse by being in a club without A/C. Overall I had a fun time here with great company. Everyone (the patrons and the staff) seemed friendly, it was a unique space (accented by an old-school photo booth), and the drinks were good. It was a bit small though and most of the space was not given up for seating to allow for people to gather and chat. Instead it seemed built for dancing with quick breaks for drinks. I think if I was into dancing I'd spend a lot more time here. Maybe someday.

Went here on Saturday night for "World Town". The DJ's in the main room were awesome. The upstairs was much more R&B grind on the floor kind of music. Down stairs was more upbeat electronica. The venue, was fine. My main complaint is the people, which I guess you can't blamed on the venue... but I'm gona complain anyhow! Because it is likely these will be the kind of ppl that hang out here. These people were in the middle of the main dance floor posing for freaking group pictures!! WTF!!! This a is a dance floor. That combined with tons of people walking back and forth and bumping into us constantly... just didn't make for a fun night of dancing. If you are on a dance floor DANCE, it is not a side walk nor a photo back drop. And it kills the vibe for people there to dance the night away, if you are just standing around in the middle of the dance floor.

Three stars for a martini on a very empty stomach which gave me a sufficient case of "I don't care" attitude thus allowing me to hungrily, and somewhat happily, woof down the mediocre-ish food. I tried a couple stinky cheeses, chicken liver pate and the mussels, followed by room temperature steak frites and a tasty banana tart. (Note: I don't "do" liver, hate it actually, but the pate was yummy). The atmosphere was nice and the service was good. Still, I doubt I'll ever go back.
