Food: Went for brunch. Food was mediocre, in fact unmemorable. Maybe it was my high expectations given the history of Blue Note. Food is edible but it's akin to diner food. If this was served at a Denny's in Wyoming it be more acceptable, but not here. Drink: Had the mimosas, far too weak. Not expecting to get buzzed of a mimosa but I at least want to taste a hint of alcohol. Service: Average. Seated us, took our order, came back with food, never heard from again. Crowd/Ambiance: I saw crowds mainly consisted of tourists and friends of the musician. Seating was a bit cramped but I guess they were going for an intimate feel between performer and audience. So that's ok, but what is not ok was the color selected for the table and carpet. Pretty tacky and low class as far as shades of blue are concerned.

Deep Where House Lives.  Here on a Sunday night for their 9th anniversary dance party.  A huge, warehouse space, with the stage in the back and seating along the two sides.  There are at least two bars, one near the entrance and the other on the good sized outside patio area.  The crowd is very diverse, dress down and be prepared to dance around all night long. The special guest DJ's, TMB - The Martinez Bros from Brooklyn were incredible.  No wonder this dual of 15 and 18 year baby faced teens have a touring schedule, including playing in Ibiza.  House music is only on Sundays.  This place is thumps hard and LOUD until 4am.  Five stars for the sound system, music and guest DJ's.  Dimitri from Paris and Garth Trinidad has spinned here as well.  Downgraded to four stars because it's anything goes here, including a high b.o. factor in some of the crowd. Everyone is searched or patted down by security before going in.  There was a pretty rude guy that insisted my friend finish his drink (just purchased) before 2am and stood there, insisting that it happen immediately.  He waited to collect my friend's empty cup and also my cup of what was clearly just ice. Private parking lot, though we scored street parking.  Age 21+, advanced tickets available on their website. I like this Ibiza video: http://www.youtube.com...

I have to echo the previous reviews by Lise and ms nobizit. I was feeling like a cranky ol' fart after leaving the club last night ranting and raving about 'kids these days' who have no respect for others. It's good to know it's not just me. The crowd was just so obnoxious, which is really unfortunate because it's also so diverse: gay, straight, yuppies, goths, handicapped, average Joes, trannies, etc. You name it they all come here in DROVES. But unfortunately, instead of a peaceful 'we are the world' vibe, everyone is on their worst behavior...and not in a good way. I dance at the DNA on other club nights and I don't experience the same problems I did here. I got elbowed, stepped on, drinks spilled on me from the balcony, farted on by gaseous frat boys, and constantly run over by people coming on and off the dance floor. There was no 'Oops I'm sorry' or 'excuse me' and the people who repeatedly bumped into me while dancing KEPT doing it instead of stopping. Now, I have no problem jabbing back and getting a raucous slam dance circle going but it just feels wrong to do it to a mash-up of Wham and Fergie. Finally it just got to be too much work for my friend's and me to enjoy ourselves with all the rude interruptions so we left at 12:30 am which is unheard of for a saturday night. This club has really made me appreciate the other club I frequent that has a more mature and respectful crowd. I will not be back to Bootie. On the positive side, I do like the concept of the music mash-up. It appeals to many different music tastes, which is why the crowd here is so diverse. I think that the better DJs combine songs with similar beats so that dancers don't get confused/overwhelmed at trying to find the right tempo to dance to. So I appreciate those who can master steady up-beat in order to maintain a good dance momentum.  I also liked the midnight mash-off (?). Last night it was goth vs. goth which was side-splitting hilarious! That was definitely the highlight of the night. But the band sucked. The girls' voices were shrieky and just sounded like drunk Karaoke singers. Thank gawd the upstairs dance room provided much needed respite. So I give two stars are for the strong drinks, original music concept, the diverse (although very rude) crowd and the goth mash-up and the flirty girls who gave me a pirate's "aaarrrgh!" on the way out. Negative 3 stars for the band, people who have no concept of personal space or respect for others, and flatulent boys.
