I went to a midnight session, but the band being great stood out more than the venue. The band playing that night was Soul  Cycle. It was a great session. I think the venue could arrange the seating better, it was kind of tight....me and my neighbors were closer than I would have liked but again the music being good helped distract me from tthe qualities that could have been better. I willgo back...just because I love the music.

Occasionally, my husband surprises me with a new place to eat out at night.  One night fairly recently Dante's was it.  I was not aware of what they served once I walked inside.  I just kept asking myself 'What is this place?!'.   Then we got seated way up high looking straight into the bar area where the jazz band had been set up. Did you know they have a cover charge for that area?  Yep.  If hubby was a-ok with that, I was too. Our overly attentive server (he's been there almost forever and I can't recall his name) made sure that we knew how to handle the fondue activities.  I think he came across like a kindergarden teacher and was constantly annoyed by his attentiveness.  I kept looking at hubby and he was fine with it.  Moving on... The food was good.  It's funny how little bits of food with lead time in between, for cooking purposes, can leave you stuffed!  And, stuffed I was.  The food was good the drinks were ok. The singer at the piano had an incredibly mellifluous voice that made the cover charge less bothersome.  At first I thought I was hearing a recording then I was dissapointed when he didn't have any recorded CD's for sale in the bar area (most performers in such venues have that). The experience was nice but expensive.  I was shocked at how expensive it was for fondue, actually.  I'd go back only in a large group to try the chocolate fondue.

This place used to be XES but like what usually happens in Hollywood when a club is no longer cool...they just remodel, name it something else, and suddenly it's the hot "new" club to go to. Valet parking at the club is $25...wack!  So we decide to park a block away at a "$10" lot.  Only when you pull in they tell you that it's $10 for them to valet it but that they park your car somewhere else and that it'll take 20 minutes for them to get your car when you leave.  Or you can pay $20 to park it yourself in the lot.  We chose the latter.  It's ok though as we preparty it ghetto style in the parking lot with Southern Comfort and diet cherry Pepsi...yeah that's how we roll. The crowd is decent if you're into the asian scene as the club is now promoted by Visionshock on Saturday nights.  My biggest complaint with the club is that the dancefloor is tiny!  Also the DJ has ADD.  The bartenders are nice enough and drinks are priced at about $11-12 each.
