I was here for all of 15 minutes. Do not go here unless you're on the guest list or know somebody. We were with a party inside and still managed to wait outside in their "for show" line for a good 10 minutes. If it was winter, I would have grabbed a taxi and went home. The doormen have that "I run the city" mentality and are hilarious to watch. Once inside, I wasn't impressed. The crowd was a bunch of young twenty-somethings with the odd creepy older guy gawking at the inebriated skanks making out with one other for attention. The "high class" image they try to convey at the door disappears once you cross the velvet rope. There is no dress code and the room is filled with punks. By the way, I thought you weren't allowed to smoke in nightclubs anymore. It seemed anywhere I stood, or sat, the person next to me was lighting up and blowing it in my face. And not only the conventional tobacco either. The music was alright. I don't like house music so it was nice to hear some hip hop. My advice, skip this place unless you're some desperate dude with a lot of money that wants to support drunken leeches all night for a smidgen of attention until last call.

I've been here many a times. They always have a fantastic line up of artists, and this tends to be a repeat spot for the band Miggs to play at .. (great band - if they are playing near you - totally check them out - sorry sidebar) The calamari and the Mac and Cheese here are worth a trip almost on their own for. The drinks are a little spendy for what you get, and the dance floor is a little dark. So pick a band or a comic that you don't want to push yourself up front for - grab a cocktail, and some fantastic snack foods - seriously the calamari is in a polenta batter with purple cabbage and squeezed lime over the top... and have yourself a great night out.

two words... rat toes! cored jalapenos stuffed with shrimp and wrapped with bacon and GRILLED. YUMMO. strange that they ran out of catfish that night. basa fingers and fried okra was amazing... as were the onion rings. i had the gumbo which tasted like they burned the roux so i sent it back for the fish stew which was fantastic. piping hot, lots of seafood. grits were so so, but turnip greens were tasty. great beer selection.... perfect for a little bit of a wait on a summer evening. gotta love the pews outside for you to enjoy the view of the cemetery.
