by Ray Y. on What a DRAG!!! hahaha! The food here is hit and miss. Sometimes it is really good and sometimes it is so-so. Been here with co-workers and been here with out of town guest (make sure out of town guest are not the conservative types!). Come for the show!!! The waitresses don't just serve you your food. FUN FUN FUN. Keep the party poopers at home!!! And come with a group and see who comes out of the closet!!! My best friend said she'll take me here for my birthday!!! Can't wait!!!!
by Sheridan P. on i ventured to the varsity bc an issue of bon appetit wrote that this place had the "best fries" in the region. gave it a shot. a very disappointing experience overall. my sister and i ordered 2 chili slaw dogs, a hamburger, and the fries, of course. the burger tasted like those served in an elementary school cafeteria. the hot dogs? dude, we've consistently gotten INFINITELY better from a cart in a lowe's parking lot. the fries were all mashed down in the paper container and soggy. although i could see the potential in them had they been crispy--the "potential" was on other people's plates who came in after us. the onion rings did look great though i didn't taste any. an extra star for potential. i'm going back. and i'll order so many fries that they'll have to fry a new batch. BONUS: while we were waiting for our order to be brought up, the teenage cashier silently dug dirt out of her fake nails. luckily my sister and i put our world back on balance by making fun of her in vietnamese. otherwise, my impression of the varsity might have stopped @ digusting. it only seems slightly gross now though.
by Kanesha Pilette on Went there for dinner last night, and the food was great. We had the free form ravioli and a duck special. Both were great as well as the staff, very nice and prompt. They have a duck pizza that I hear is great, and the best part they serve food til 2am most nights. The full menu, so if you are every hungry late at night you have other options then dives.
