I normally don't like to review clubs/lounges (whatever) because i think everyone has different expectations of clubs. I went to H.Wood for my school fundraiser on a Wed night. It was dead when we got there, but another group was having a fundraiser too so it filled up pretty quickly. I asked for a crown and seven up and she made me a whiskey sour with crown.... and it cost $12... i think before tip. what.the.eff. not only did she make me the wrong drink, it was weak. that was enough to tip the scale so i'm giving the place 2 stars. also i don't particularly like the layout. if you're upstairs dancing and wanna get some air, you can step out onto the patio.. where it's filled with smokers. awesome.

Let's start by saying... get a Pink Lady and you will reach the danger zone. Maybe it's 3 or 4, plus some champagne, but nevertheless, these martinis are delicious and brutal! The first time I came here, we were seated in a cozy area in close proximity to the bar... the trouble starts here. We had a great time in our cocktail attire, drinks in hand. The service was great and the scene is urban professional... not too uptight. My only issue is how far away the restrooms are.

Stay away. And the reason I say that is because I have a relationship with Bootie and don't want to share. I could write so much about this place: santa hats, pirates, chocolate spunk, drag kings. But I wont. Because you need to experience it for yourself. What I will say is that Mashup is a music scene not to be missed. Some will probably argue that it's no longer cool which is reinforced by the fact that the clientle is really normal-looking now. The cool kids with funky stocking have long since left in search of another location where they fit in. Bootie's been going on for 3+ years and it's getting more popular by the month. If you want some education, visit http://www.bootiesf.comand download their monthly updated top ten list. It's usually similar to their free CDs. Party Ben used to spin the Friday night Sixx Mixx on 105FM. You can still find the 100 or so 30 minute recordings for download ( http://www.partyben.co...). That's a lot of free friggin music.
