Showed up here on a Friday night just after 11 with a group of friends and found a line of about 30 people waiting to get in. We were on the guestlist and tried to cut the line, but the bouncer said the club was "at capacity." After figuring out the appropriate name to drop and getting in, we walked in to find the place completely empty. Like maaaybee 10 people on the main floor and 30 people downstairs, most of whom were my friends who were all there for a birthday party. At capacity my ass. Anyways spent most of the night downstairs trying to dance to crappy music. Didn't realize there are multiple rooms so maybe I was just in the wrong area. I would say that I'll try to explore the club more next time, but honestly I would probably never come back. Oh but the drinks seemed pretty strong - only had a couple and was pretty done by the end of the night.

hype? yes. good drinks and food? definitely. didn't have any of the entrees since we were in more of a tapas-night mood that night. everything was above average or better. the selection of meats and cheeses were good (nothing crazy), but the quality of each product made up for it. goat cheese (sans honey), grilled squid, mussels, scallops were all great. the roasted shrimp was disappointing though. our server was very fun and attentive. maybe bc my friend and i drank every speciality drink (some of them, twice...) they're all good (EXCEPT THE TEQUILA ONE. anything but that one, guys!)

Walking into Tao is like walking into an ancient asian temple. When I was there, it was quite crowded and the music was loud. The food is spectacular but really expensive. They have Japanese Pachinko machines in the girls' bathroom stalls. Too bad you can't play with them.
