by jocy c. on I'm so glad that Salt Lick is located at the Austin airport, so that I don't have to trek out to Salt Lick's other locations in Driftwood or Round Rock in Texas. Driftwood - http://www.saltlickbbq... Round Rock - http://www.saltlickbbq... Airport - http://www.saltlickbbq... Friend and I split the BBQ Brisket Sandwich. YUM! - 4.5 stars http://www.rateclubs.com/bi... Brisket was nice and moist. BBQ had a mustard taste. No additional BBQ sauce needed - my kind of sandwich. Worth a trip!
by Anisa Y. on Just tried this place a couple days ago. The food came out freakishly fast (like, TOO fast!). We got the nachos, which were not very good at all...I've had better nachos at movie theaters and gas stations (should've known better than to order something with "cheese whiz" in the menu description). I'll give it 3 stars though because the server was really nice and was able to keep up with refills (which says a LOT since my boyfriend can chug Dr. Pepper like no other), and the goat cheese salad was actually very good. Bf had the shepherd's pie--wasn't bad but we've had better (and for $15 I thought the portion should've been bigger--it's half potatoes, and potatoes are cheap!) The waitress actually came over looking concerned after the first couple bites because "it's one of the things on the menu that's been really inconsistent." Good to know, I guess...
by Candelaria Pincock on i dont know when $20 drinks, i-bankers who stare vapidly at topless trapeze artists, 2 minute burlesque shows whose only end is to upset the audience, and real mean door staff got cool. and when did the stripper pole get classy? when did that happen? all i know is that women were assured equal rights in the 1970s but this place--which employs at least one gal to merely walk around in her underwear--didn't even read that memo. way to be avant-garde.
