I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this place. The atmosphere is like an upscale sports bar and that shows in the slightly higher prices. The brick chicken mac and cheese is amazing. My husband loves cheese but doesn't like regular mac n cheese. He had a bite of mine and kept coming back for more. I have also had the chicken fried chicken there which was good. Very moist and the mashed potatoes were also great.

Given the reviews, I was expecting to be repulsed by pretty much everything about this place. For the most part, (albeit not impressively) the bar pulled off the throw back vibe it was going for. The crowd was attractive and the drinks were solid. The problem, as far as I can tell, is the bar's size. It's suffering from a serious Napoleon complex. Does it think it's something it isn't? Maybe. Is it MUCH too tiny? Definitely. The downstairs I wasn't all that fond of, although by this point I was dealing with friends telling girls I was a model and me confirming that I was, indeed, a (plus size) model. So when it comes to Ella, I would check it out for yourself.

Two stars for the food; it was pretty bad and overpriced. The baby back ribs were dry and flavorless. Frozen peas and corn in the empanadas, although the sauce wasn't bad. My wife had what they the call "best Mojito in Texas," and it was very average. The atmosphere is pretty good and it seems like a good place to go with a big group for drinks only.
