by Shelton Dobrosky on I would say out of all the big expensive clubs in Atlanta Primal is my favorite. Saturdays are probably the best days to go. The bouncer on Saturdays (Jersey) is a great guy. Very friendly and considerate. The club itself is expensive and loud, but here is what I love about Primal: the design. It's not just that it has different rooms for different styles of music (similar to Cosmo lava), each room itself is a different type. For example (and talking about typical Saturdays), outside DJ EU typically spins Latin music, inside is top 40 with usually guest DJs, upstairs is typically DJ Brett Mauro and Dubstyle spinning house. The idea is you go outside to chill with some latin music, dance and talk. Inside is the stereotypical club feel with lights, dancers, and tons of people, upstairs is house music with a rooftop where people can actually SIT and TALK. Girl/guy ratio is actually pretty good when I go... Tons of bars so you won't have to wait long for a drink... but again it's super expensive. Fun to go with a group because typically everyone will have a room with a music style they enjoy. On Saturdays you can get on the guest list free before 11... Just be sure you get there early else you'll have to wait in line (ala Opera).
by Kim Cabasso on Wah-waaaahhhh. So the sign changes colors, enough said. Anyways.. it is super-hip and super expensive. A bottle of Grey Goose is a reasonable $350, in case you are curious. We had a few drinks.. specialty cocktails are okay, but nothing new or exciting ... they just give new names to old classics. I will say the wait staff was great and service was perfect. If you ever wanted to live inside of a Design Within Reach catalog, go check it out.
