We walked in and were greeted by a very friendly host, who told us that Greg the bartender would love our company. Well, we'd love his company too. We started off with a Kir Royale and French 75, and ended up getting a free drink from these guys who were promoting their Elderflower Liqueur, St. Germaine. Deciding that our sweet tooths were *not* satisfied, we ordered strawberries and chocolate and a selection of two cheeses, which were both fabulous.

Came here to see Justice. it was sold out The line was long and there was a certain "buzz" in the air at the front door. Everyone knows Justice is from Paris and know that they don't come out to the USA that much let alone SF bay area. I also saw Fujiya & Miyagi and Project Jenny, Project Jan PJ and PJ were the first band they rocked the house and fujiya and Miyagi were also kick ass so 2 great shows in a span of 3 days I will be back for UNKLE( first live tour) at the end of the month as well. The bartenders kick some butt there too. Their was plenty of security and most were serious looking but still respectful and some even cracking jokes while checking Id's and I was getting my ticket at the window overall i do recommend and also frequently check out their website calendar.

Anachronism - a person or thing that is chronologically out of place (especially one from a former age that is incongruous in the present). Webster Hall - where anachronisms are found in abundance. I'll start by admitting that one of them was me!  The crowd at Webster Hall is young (perhaps 23 average), ethnically diverse and despite the $30 cover and pretty expensive drinks, decidedly middle class.  No need to worry about dressing up to go here.  I, on the other hand, left 23 in the rear view mirror a while ago. I wasn't the only anachronism though!  There, in the front dance area, were a bunch of young twentysomethings dancing up a storm to 80s pop and disco that came out when they were in Pampers.  The music was decent to good, but it was too dark and loud to converse - for that you had to move to... ... an area on the right sort of like a diner out of the 50s (complete with tables and a booth or two) that had some food as well as drinks. Upstairs they had a Latin music and dance area, which seemed to have the best ambiance, not to mention very attractive and attentive bar staff. The large dance area opened at midnight and had a trapeze (unoccupied, at the time) and impressive light show.  Z100 was hosting and the music was sort of top 20 dance music.  In the basement there was a very hot and crowded hip-hop area. To be fair, this wasn't my music and wasn't my crowd.  With that said, the place still seemed unremarkable even if it was your music and it was your crowd.  The main pluses were the variety of music in the four areas (where is the trance and house?!) and the sheer size of the place.  Plus the aforementioned attractive bar staff. If this sounds like your kind of place, do visit their web site - I found a link to printing out a coupon good for free admission, and there were other discounts as well.  Enjoy - and in a few years I'll see you over at Cielo. p.s. This was on a Saturday night.
