by Minh Orvis on I've passed this place a million times on the way to LGA, and have been waiting for the perfect partner in crime to go on adventure (2 trains and a bus) to dine here. Luckily, Allen was game. SO we got there, it's all decked out for Christmas, it looks totally insane. The inside is equally nutty -- thatched "roof," straight-backed chairs, a million servers, dioramas of Dominican life (I think?). I really had no idea what to expect but we went with goat in a Cajun sauce and seafood in a pumpkin. Flavorings on both were pretty tasty, and portion sizes were generous. One thing I didn't expect was the price tag (then again, I had no idea what I was getting into). This place is heavy on the seafood and portion sizes and therefore is not cheap. But, it was fun!

Maybe it's because I don't like to dress up unless I'm going to get lucky that night ;) JKKKK but really Hollywood is just too over priced, hyped up, and you have to get there super early so you don't have to pay cover (heyyyy man times are rough, I need to save money). Anyway back to the Little Temple you can dress up in jeans and cute top, crap I even saw people in their post work attire there. Music wise it depends on the night but over all you can groove your booty to it. Drinks are not overpriced, definitely no $15/ shot deal. Last thing is the after grub, Hollywood I love for this because I would get my ghetto dog. I don't remember seeing a cart (I see a picture though, maybe it wasn't just our night) that is disappointing but I remember hitting up a taco truck that was down the street (or I would like to think it was down the st)
by Alexis B. on I believe I've said before I'm not terribly fond of dive bars. That's still true but only because I don't really like to go to the bar with out the option of a dance floor and some booty shaking music. It makes me feel fat just drinking all night. That dancing at least makes me feel like I can have another beer because I'll shake it off in the next half hour. Vertigo hits the spot for that. Divey with a dance floor. I'm droppin it like it's hot on the dance floor with a whole 7 other people (I'll have to go back on a Friday) and having a better time than I had at Slide. But the emptiness made us sad so we were off to R Bar. But I will be back! ----------------------------------------- UPDATE: I've been back and good GOD does this place get packed! By 12 I couldn't move through the crowd on the dance floor neither could I get a drink without it taking forever. Maybe I am just getting too old for this shit but I was kind of missing the space required to breathe by then. You will not catch me bad mouthing this place because I still think it is awesome. But It sure does make me feel old when I want to leave at 12 because I can't handle the crowds. And I don't want to feel old. :(
