by Jay N. on Horrible experience at this place; Our food came late and bland and the service was about the worse I've experienced on my trips to California. I was just reminded of my trip here about a month ago when I saw that the restaurant released the receipt and signature of a famous diner to TMZ who left a tip they didn't appreciate. Real classy guys. I won't be back, and neither should you. With such an incredible array of choices in this area, why patronize a business with this level of service and food quality, not to mention one who'll give your personal dining information to the press if they don't care for your tip.
by Rockie N. on I lived near this location and it's past lives for years, and never managed to get into the place. Now they offer a happy hour, and I work nearby. Their happy hour basically means usually high-priced items (such as wine) come almost "regularly" priced. You get 50% off glasses of wine and a list of drinks to chose from. I have no idea how much those are because none of the prices are listed. (Hate that.) The wine selection is decent, and the $5-ish tapas: Spanish olives, a nice salad and some croquettes made for a nice nosh after work. Our bartender was helpful, as was the rest of the staff. We ended up there while someone was having a party on the patio, so we were seated at the awkward and uncomfortable area in the waiting area. It felt kinda like where you'd sit your second string of friends, so we ended up sitting at the bar. As another reviewer said, the crowd started to change around 9PM. It became quite "Hollywood." (No wonder I've seen TMZ out front a few times!). I asked to take my olives "to go" and upon getting them home, I opened the box only to realize that the bar-back had included our PITS. I don't know about you, but that prompted an instant gag-reflex on my end. Over-all? I'd like to go back and try more of the food because the small plates we tried were lovely. Plus, it would be nice to be able to chill on the patio! The scene? Not so much. Seems a little pretentious.
