by Russell Suchy on Okay, here is my problem with Opera: The people working there are just inconsiderate. It has been multiple times that I have waited in like for 30 minutes to get in free (as they hold up the line to make it seem like the night is great), get to the front LITERALLY 3 minutes after the guest list... The bouncer (Mike I think?) said verbatim: "My watch says 10:33, guest list closed at 10:30. It'll be 20 bucks each." Keep in mind we got in line at 10PM... This has happened multiple times to me, and it has happened to other people I know. What do we do when this happens? We get out of line and go somewhere else. We (5 people) are not paying 20 dollars to get in. What Opera doesn't realize is that they would have earned more money from us letting us in free (as we would buy drinks inside) But the absolute worst part about Opera is that they actually get the DJs you want to see... and you will find yourself saying I hate Opera but actually going back just to see the DJ and then having a terrible experience... KEEP IN MIND THE SAME PEOPLE WHO RUN OPERA (LIQUIFIED) RAN THE 2009 TIESTO CONCERT WHICH WAS A DISASTER IN ORGANIZATION (just google it, they charged 2x the amount of parking they advertised and made the line huge and tried to make more money by offering people line cut passes... then the cops came because a riot broke out outside the center) Anyway, if you live in Atlanta you will end up going here at least once. The club itself is posh and beautiful... As I said they have great DJs. Don't get me started on the drink prices.
by Brooks Bergsma on me and my main squeeze used to frequent bimbos. just swank and sophisticated swagger. nice venue, gals were dressed to the nines, fellas too. good drinks, party atmosphere. Now that was quite a few years ago when Bimbos wasnt the only game in North Beach. There was Mr. D's, Basin Street West, is Finnochios still around?. My parents used to take out of town relatives there for a hoot! and lets not forget the premiere party place during the disco era DANCE YOUR ASS OFF !!! and that younguns ...is the 411!
by jonathan G. on First, let me say that the promoters for this place are complete tools. This one asian guy with, what looked like a wispy mustache that a prepubescent teenager would laugh at, was just a complete fop. We went to this place on a dead night as there was absolutely no line. This toolbag comes up to us and says "you guys know its $20 cover right?" We're okay with that, whatever, it's dead but $20 is decent in Hollywood. Then he changes his mind, "You know, I'll be honest with you, for me to let you in you gotta buy 1 bottle." He then spews some ridiculous things like the place is packed, which it isn't, we could see inside. Plus the group we saw just walk in, walked out at the other end. So he just changes his minds like we're some idiots that don't know any better. Don't know about other nights, but avoid this Asian toolbag if you can.
