Went to Dante's yesterday for happy hour and was pleasantly surprised. I had been to Dante's for dinner before, but never just for a drink. We had a rather large group, but they easily accommodated us. The restaurant was fairly empty, not sure if this was due to the snow or due to the time (about 5pm). We got seated in a very interesting booth room made for 12 - with a Bishop's chair in the center of it. We got to roam around the place since it was so empty. The decor is really unique - there is an entire reconstructed boat in the middle of the place with crocodile infested waters and a warf surrounding it. Although their beer list is not extensive, they did have a couple good picks. Most of us got one of two Heavy Seas beers they carry (go figure in a boat themed place) the Peg Leg or the Loose Cannon. We also tried their cheese platter which was awesome. I'm not sure what all the cheeses were (there was a cheddar, a havarti, and two others), but they were really tasty. I think the best thing about the whole happy hour was when Dante himself came over to say hello. He is an extremely interesting guy and it was fun to hear him talk about his worldly travels and his study of biblical geology (what?!). Anyways, it's probably not going to be my weekly hang out by any means, but it is a good place for a group to go after work for a couple of drinks and a good time.

Excellent wine & dine. Go for the mussels and stay for the mac & cheese, pizza and everything else! Reminiscent of an outdated nightclub swathed in matte black the ground floor munching decor of Top Floor needs revitalizing. The upstairs (which I did not see) might've been presented better than the downstairs. The robust adventures our tongues were treated to should translate over to the aesthetics of the restaurant which they did not. Aside from that do check this place out the food / service / drinks were on point. BUT be sure to keep some coin in pocket to satiate the would-be panhandlers!

The Best Restaraunt on the 12th street evn though that might not be saying much! Everything on the menu is delicious, the drinks are strong, the scene is not as bad as the neighboring restaraunts(I'm talking about you Buddha Bar). I've been here numerous times and yet I have not been able to order anything else except the organic 1/2 chicken, mac and cheese, and truffle fries because they are addicive. The ambiance is great and you'll have a whole dinner to figure out how you can get into Tenjune afterwards! I think I'm going to have to go back as soon as I finish this review because just thinking about the garlic bread is making my mouth water!
